DXV3, Normal quality with Alpha file is not work in Resolume

Post by KONTEKST »

Hi guys, i need some help with alpha chanel in Resolume.

Last night i just bought some clips with alpha from a big name website for VJ loops, after done downloaded, i checked them in Resolume, they are worse and run very not smooth so i email to support team and they said because my device's bandwidth is not enough for their clips ( my device is MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 and AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB. )
--- ok, fine. so i tried to converted them in Adobe Premier Pro CC and MPEG Streamclip by set them to DXV3, Normal quality with alpha, 25 fps and the result is so weird - they run very smoothly as they should be BUT the alpaha chanel is not working.

Can anyone give me some advise, please?

Linky is broke for me :/

Too the OP
For rendering dvx, I do it out of AfterEffects. I tried a few times out of premiere but didn't get good results so I stick with what works!
This is my process in AfterEffects.
After adding the comp to the render que select the yellow text "lossless"
Select the format drop down to Quicktime .
Select format options and select dvx then in codec settings set preserve alpha if its dvx3 I choose normal quality with alpha.

Back in the output settings window under video output check box I change the channels drop down to RGB + Alpha.
Then next to color I change the drop down to strait (unmatted). (Because I have mixed results with alpha working with premultiplied (matted). More research required on it. Sometimes the footage renders the alpha a translucent green.)

Yeah I too have had issues in the past with performance after rendering to dvx. But with those settings it's never failed me out of after effects and the performance is quite good.
