Autoplay Effect Clips with Slices?

Hi,

I have a projection map set up with two slices for two different layers. I have FX on both layers that I'm triggering by MIDI, so I have hands-on control with that. However, I have certain effect clips that I'd like to autoplay over my layers. They do not render in my slices (which makes sense since the slices only take input from their assigned layer).

I've tried layer routing but it doesn't seem that my effect clips pass down onto the layers anyway, which I assume because this bypasses anything composition-related.

Is there any workaround for this? I would like to be able to autoplay my effect clips onto my slices. I'm using Resolume Arena 4.

double your composition width and place your layers to left and right, you can then place effect clips above these layers positioned and sized to left and right.
then in advanced output you assign a slice to the left of the composition and one to the right, and switch the slices to composition input, and in the output you can now place those slices in your outputs separately.
with two layers, slice routing just makes things complicated.
