Audio routing from Resolume to AudioMulch (Mac OS 10.8)

Post by jay »

I wonder if anyone has had any experience routing the audio from Resolume into another piece of software on the same computer? (trying AudioMulch) I am on a mac running OS 10.8. I have tried Soundflower with no luck.

Any suggestions appreciated.

In your preferences pan, what is your output device and channels set to?
Sunflower should be able to accomplish this.

Thanks for the reply. I have now made some progress. The issue now is I am using a traktor soundcard, so I can preview resolume clips through headphones. As soon as I activate soundflower bed the audio distorts, unlistanable.

I am using OS 10.8.5

Any suggestions appreciated

I would check your gain settings, and make sure your bitrate is the same on all platforms

Thanks again for the reply. The distortion is definitely not volume based.

I am not sure what I can do regarding the bitrate?
In the audio/midi set up within the mac, the Traktor soundcard is 4 channel 24 bit integer, and Soundflower 64 channel is 32 bit integer?

I can get it so everything is routed correctly, Resolume main output via 1&2 of soundflower, preview output via 3&4, 1&2 routed into audiomulch. All working lovely, apart from the weird distortion...

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can you set your Resolume sample rate to 44100, and your buffersize to 512. Keeping Sunflower as the output device, and Left & Right as the channel.
In your systems's audio preferences can you verify sunflowers input and output sample rate is set to 44.1 (44100) and either 16 OR 24 bit?
If these settings are confirmed and it still sounds distorted. Try playing with the buffersize within Resolume. If non of those options fixes the sound.
Could you try opening Spotify ot iTunes and use Soundflower as your playback device to se if it's a universal problem with Soundflower, or if it's just a Resolume issue.
Thanks :)

Thanks again for your reply, it happens whenever I use the Soundgarden option, so not just a resolume issue.

Any ideas for alternatives anyone?

Thanks

I use Soundflower with Loopback and it works perfectly.
