Looking for the top of the line external SSD to run visuals off of. USB-C? Thunderbolt? And if i'm guest VJ and need to run content off a venue's in house computer and they don't have USB-C i'm guessing its cap is whatever USB3 can handle eh?

I build USB3 external portable drives with Samsumg 850 PRO (512GB or 1TB) and they seem to handle everything I throw at them.
When I need faster external drives, I build them with OWC Thunderbolt 2 enclosures with 4 Samsumg 850 PRO (512GB or 1TB) in RAID 0, 5 or 10 depending on what I need.
