I have a show coming up next month and I'm using Datapath FX4 for a 17 projector display set up with Arena 5 however when I patch all cables I'm only getting single signal output from Datapath. I want to use the blending options in Arena so I need independent inputs from my projectors. If you guys have used this technique for any 3D Projection Mapping show, please help!
Cheers
Adi
Blending options for Datapath FX4 - 17 projectors display set up with Arena 5
Re: Blending options for Datapath FX4 - 17 projectors display set up with Arena 5
Blending happens on the Input Selection side. It makes absolutely zero difference whether you're using 4 discrete 1080p outputs or a single 4K output.
You just need to make 4 1080p slices instead of the single 4K slice you get by default.

Just make sure your Datapath layout and Arena output map match up exactly, then for each Datapath output you would create 4 slices that you can blend on the input map as needed.
Typically I label my slices in Arena the same number as my output in the Datapath.
I'm attaching a sample xml file for one FX4 with 3 blend zone. Take a look at this video to see how it works with a 5720x1080 comp:

Thank you Joris & Oaktown! It was really helpful, will get back to you soon if anything comes up.
Re: Blending options for Datapath FX4 - 17 projectors display set up with Arena 5
I know this thread is old, but I have a setup I could use some experienced advice. Client has 3 datapath fx4 units with 12 projectors connected to a MacBook Pro via HDMI. However, they are not setup horizontally, but on a 2x6 grid, vertically. 2 wide, 6 tall and each one is pointed straight down into the floor. Each one is set to 1280x800 in the Datapath Wall Designer and setup as a 2 wide x 6 tall setup. That should translate to 2560 x 4800 resolution. But that is not what we see in Apple Displays. Apple see it at a 2560x1440 display, so does resolume.
How do I get MacOS to see the real resolution the FX4 array is creating? I've done a lot of work with these datapath units, but never this kind of projector array.
Any advice and help would be kindly appreciated.
