Low FPS, but only for a few seconds?

Post by jate »

I'll have 45-60FPS for an hour, and then for maybe 10 seconds, I get only 1-2FPS. Then it picks right back up to 45-60.

It'll happen a few times during a show, maybe 3-5 over 6 hours?

Running Windows 10 with a 1080ti and a beefy CPU. Trying to figure out if this is a known thing.

Any ideas? Thanks!

You probably have a scheduled task running in windows at the time of the fps drop.
Or your disk might go to sleep.
Are you playing your footage from an SSD?

Check your power management settings in windows to disable disk sleep, and the scheduled tasks so they are not starting a virus scan or windows update in the middle of your show.

I went through this and couldn’t get it fixed with win 10. Earlier versions of win 10 didn’t have the issue. I ended up downgrading to win 7.
