Are Resolume project files cross compatible?

I'm normally on Mac, but for an upcoming installation we plan to purchase a beast of a PC.

Is it easy to import/export composition files both ways..?

Yep, just nicely formatted files that work on both. I’m sure they’ve originally picked the file syntax for that reason.
