I'm using, in my laptop, CANOPUS PRO CODER to encode normal AVI files to Indeo 5.1 but everytime that i put more than a file to convert (batch) the program crash.
In my desktower with the pro coder the encoder Indeo 5.1 don't apear at all, i need to instal anything?
What are the best software to compress a lot of files at the same time (batch)???
thanks, and sory for the stupid questions

They can do a lot of the same things but they are fundamentally for different purposes.
Premier is for editing, although it can apply effects etc. You would make (edit together) a movie in Premier and it has broader export options. You can capture video in Premier, not as far as I know in After effects, athough I've never tried it's just how i work.
After Effects is for intended for applying effects to video a bit like photoshop, although you can edit to a degree with it. Traditionally this is for stuff like titling. You might then put these effected clips back into a Premier project.
For the VJ who isn't necessarily making long edited movies, AfterEffects is the first choice since it can do most things you'd need.
If you make video in a broader context than just VJ loops, then like I said AE and Premier definitely are a good combo.
Flash and AE are another good combo.
BTW can you capture in AE anyone?
