What about the new generation from Nvidia? RTX 2080 and RTX 2080ti

Post by GMAS »

So with the new generation cards Nvidia has been taking more about live ray tracing techniques than about the ordinary calculating power wich results in fps.
What is important for Resolume for generating effects and calculating warping of content? Is this pure calculating cores (like cuda)?
What API is important for Resolume? can you compare it to games, so DirectX 12...
Will these ray tracing calculation cores give new opportunities?

First off, Resolume uses OpenGl, thats how it works on mac and PC.

But a good rule of thumb is more cuda cores, the better the card. Right now things like touch designer and notch may take advantage of these ray tracing elements, may be awhile before they're used in Resolume.
