noticed a weird bug with one of our systems:
Ryzen 2400G (Vega 11 graphics)
16GB DDR4 3200mhz
ADATA XPG 512GB m.2 NVME SSD
BMD DeckLink Quad2
BMD DeckLink Duo2
windows 10 x64
on both the decklink cards, get a weird static (stationary) diagonal across the output. it shows up in the test card as well, so it's not the footage.
I've tried:
-same footage on a different system and it works fine.
-different SDI to HDMI adapters, all had same problem
-fresh install of windows 10 x64
-reinstalled the drivers
-tried running old graphic drivers..
-changing resolution of the comp - it matches the output in advanced output (720p)
But it's still there. I haven't tried rolling back to older version of resolume, or older BMD drivers yet.. will try after I take a break. Maybe just gltich with the integrated Vega graphics + decklink cards..? it's only really noticeable if the footage has straight vertical lines, so took a while to catch it.

Do you also see these tear lines when playing footage from Blackmagic Media Express?

good question! I hadn't thought to try.Zoltán wrote: Fri Aug 31, 2018 10:03 Do you also see these tear lines when playing footage from Blackmagic Media Express?
I've barely ever used Media Express TBH, had a lot of trouble getting it to play back the clip in the right settings (720p60), I tried exporting it to h264/prores/dnxhd and none worked, I'm guessing it wants me to make the clip 1280x720 60fps (it's currently 30fps) - pretty dumb, makes me appreciate working with Resolume more for sure!
anyway, I ended up playing the clip out of another resolume system's decklink card, INTO this systems decklink card, recording it, then playing that out of Media Express @ 720p60 - and NO, no tear line:

Could you try creating a new advanced output preset with just a single slice and check if you see the same tear?

done, actually this was how it was already setup - but I started a new comp and new advanced output preset anyway and no change.. I even tried changing the resolume of the comp to 1920x1080 but didn't make a difference.
going to try plugging in a spare nVidia GPU to see if it's perhaps a glitch with the AMD APU driver.. if only I can find the right PCI-E power cable for this power supply!

Re: weird diagonal tear on output from BMD DeckLink cards
plugged in the nvidia gpu and the tear is gone when using that:

so something to do with the AMD APU... I think they've only ever released two drivers for the 2400G so rolling back may be hard (pre-Adrenaline).. might give that a shot.
sticking to the nVIDIA gpu isn't ideal as it means I lose one of the DeckLink cards

Re: weird diagonal tear on output from BMD DeckLink cards
so I guess SOL for now? maybe a new AMD or BMD driver update will fix it?
Re: weird diagonal tear on output from BMD DeckLink cards
Could be the drivers, could be something particular to the integrated Vega graphics.
Also possible that we'd need to draw differently for this particular GPU.
Hard to say without having one to test.

would be awesome to build a little mITX computer with a single BMD Decklink Quad2 card and be able to do 8 sdi in/outs.. apparently there's new Ryzen+Vega chips coming too so performance overhead will be there.
