MPC LIVE

Post by kaveman13 »

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum. Hopefully someone can help me with my issue.

I want to control Resolume Arena with my AKAI MPC LIVE. On youtube I'v seen somebody doing this but the guy is using ableton and then rewiring it to Resolume. I don't want to use ableton. So I hooked up my MPC in controller mode and I started Arena. And the MPC is visible in the Midi prefs (though I had to start the MPC software first). I checked the box MPC Live Port One; Midi input. But if try to assign the drumpads to the resolume clip via Edit Midi, resolume doesn't react. It doesn't see an incoming midi signal.

I tried the same with my m-audio midi man 2X2. The advantage is that i don't have run the MPC software in the background. But the result is the same; resolume doesn't see any midi signal coming from the MPC.

So is the MPC not compliant or what can I do to make it work?

thanks for helping! I hook up the mpc to my mac with a usb cable, so the midi is running through this. I don't think i need a cable because the software of mpc receives midi notes.
