DMX input device. Artnet node or USB dongle?

Post by Wamzel »

Hi,
I was wondering if the dmx Input device has to be an artnet device, or if it could be done via a USB dongle
Thanks,
Wessel

Resolume Arena 6 and 7 only support Art-net. USB DMX devices are no longer supported.

If you need 3/5 wire DMX, there are some Art-net to DMX converter boxes that could work for you.

Can I use two artnet devices? One is my PC running resolume, it's connected directly to the console. And the artnet node goes to the stage.
Can I use a ethernet switch or do I have to get a pcie Ethernet card?

Art-net works over regular Ethernet, so you can just connect your Resolume machine to your existing Art-net network. Make sure to use the same IP address range than the other devices and nodes.

These support articles should help with the input and output settings in Resolume:
