Shaper effect and source

hi. I'm trying to figure out what the shaper effect does. But I can't seem to figure it out. What does the effect do and what is the difference between the Shaper in the effect menu and the Shaper in the Sources menu?

The Shaper in the Sources panel is a source where the video source is the shape generator.
With the Effect version, you can use the Shapes mixed to the original texture of a clip, layer or the composition.
