Automating clip playhead with envelope?

I'm trying to manipulate a the clip playhead to be controlled by BPM. How i've done this with other parameters is set the BPM sync on and set 4 hold keyframes in an envelope of various values.
This allows me to adjust parameters sequence parameter changes in sync with the bpm.

What i'm looking for is a feature similar to the random playback button, except not random, I want control over the playhead's position. With the ultimate goal of having clips jammable with Ableton Live.

There may be a much easier solution to what i'm trying to achieve, so I'd love to hear some suggestions by some more experienced users than myself.
