Change composition resolution without affecting crops?

Post by projectneptune »

Hi All,

I am working on a live performance with 11 live NDI camera inputs. We have carefully constructed a number of camera crops, orientations, relationships etc across 16 decks, but have noticed that the 1080 composition resolution is causing cameras to drop/disconnect. As a test I converted the entire composition to 720, and it totally stabilized the camera feeds, but it also effects all the crop/transform orientations.

Is there a way to shift composition resolution without the crops/transform orientations loosing their relationships? I have already attempted scaling down the entire composition in 1080 before changing the resolution to 720, and it didn't work. The show open's this week, and there isn't time to go through all cues to manually adjust.

Hoping there is an easy fix.

Thanks!

Are your NDI sources changing from 1080 to 720? If so you can bring in a 720 source into a 1080 comp and then just upscale your sources to 1080 and that should keep the programing you built for the 1080 comp the same.

Thanks for the idea.
The Camera sources are already 720, but changing the project to match seems to stabilize things.
Other suggestions?

What is your computer hardware specs?
How many NDI streams are you playing at once?
Is this a Wired Gigabit network? What else is running on this network?
