"ignore column trigger if empty" layer option
title basically says it all. it would be amazing to have a layer option to ignore column triggers if theres no clip in it. so if you run for instance a background loop and switch items on top of it, you dont want to start the background loop everytime from zero if you trigger the column

Re: "ignore column trigger if empty" layer option
Surely that’s what setting the Layer to ignore column trigger does?

no because I want that it only ignores column triggers if the clip is empty. it should trigger the clip if theres one.Empyfree wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 19:00 Surely that’s what setting the Layer to ignore column trigger does?

I think your edit makes more sense to me now.
I do the same, duplicating background layers across columns where very occasionally it might need to transition to something else. I set the playback to “continue” so that even though it moves to the new column it maintains the play head position.
