Transitions settings somewhere else than in Layers (Clips, Columns)

Hey everybody,
I'm using Arena for a Multi-Monitor-Setup (3) for a theatre play.
Right now in my composition there are 3 layers that are mapped to one of the three monitors each.
(So layer 1 = monitor 1, layer2 = monitor2, layer2 = monitor3)
Now when i want to make a transition (for example a fade from one clip to black) i can only do this via the layer settings. (As far as i have seen)
But since one layer is mapped to one monitor that means all the clips that are gonna be played during that 90min play on that monitor are gonna have that transition. And of course i need different ones (or none at all and just a hard cut)
Is there a way to make the transition settings in the clips somehow (or in the columns, that would also work)?
(Which means having individual transition types and times for each clip and/or column and not only the layer)
Or can you think of another workaround?

Can set transition times on individual layers when launching columns with it.
