how do you place multiple effects on a clip without it cancelling the last?

You can't, unless you use global effects.

With the caveat that far from all Freeframe effects support it, there is Pete Warden's FreeChain utility, which allows you to combine FreeFrame effects. (It also supports the redefinition of parameter defaults and the reordering of parameters, a handy feature around here, given Resolume's support of only the first four parameters -- which undoubtedly will be corrected in 2.4, right, guys? ;) )

Again, though, it only works with FreeFrame effects that conform to a certain architecture. You can find more information here:

The FreeFrame Lister utility that comes with the visualvinyl FreeFrame plug-ins is a great tool for determining which plugins will work with FreeChain.
