Disabling HT boosts up resolume?

Post by Anonymous »

As all of you know resolume does not support dual core, therefore doesn't use the second virtual cpu provided by the HT technology.
Has anyone (or simply the developers) done any tests about HT enabled versus HT disabled? I've tried but am not really capable to see any difference.

Thanks,
JaKo

As best as I can tell, it *does* boost performance slightly. Unfortunately, on my system it also screws up MIDI input -- MIDI signals are delayed or lost. This has previously been reported by others (Bunniboi, perhaps?).

According to Kyle on VJforums.com...

"It is recommended to turn Hyperthreading off if you r processor supports it because it does not allow any application to take the full 100% of the CPU."

You can find the thread HERE

Hope this helps,

Is the future version of Resolume will include a dual-core optimisation ???
