licensing issue

Post by markallan78 »

We bought 4 Resolume license last year V7.15 and since we are using it at site and dont want any internet interference with the laptops we got the doggles.

This year, we've added 2 more license and notice that we had to upgrade to 7.16 in order to transfer the license from PC to dongle and it all work fine.

but i did have this issue when all 6 resolume with license dongle suddenly comes out as unlicensed. I had to go online for each PC before it recognize the license. for now the licensing seems to work fine with the dongles.

My questions is why did this happen as from my understanding we dont need internet if the license in on the dongle and how to prevent this from happening again as certain site we visit might not have internet access.

If your previous license update plan included all versions up to 7.15 then this information was stored on your dongles.

When you buy a renewal so your license is eligible for 7.16 and install that version, your dongle can not know that you did buy a renewal.
To update the license information on the dongle it needs to have a internet connection one time, once this is done you can continue using your dongles without any internet connection.

Thanks for your reply. So far since that 1 time, now seems to be ok.

On a seperate note, i'm having this issue on just 1 PC whereby Wire watermark seems to be appearing randomly on just 1 of the Arena laptops. is there a way to stop this as am not using Wire

Have check and notice that it only appears when I put video router effects on 1 layer and when it’s launch.

It might be a Wire effect, source or mixer loaded somewhere, likely as layer blend on this specific layer.
It would show the Wire watermark if Wire is not registered on the machine.
