PREVIEW WINDOW NOT WORKING

Hi.
Unless I'm doing anything wrong, or going nuts, recently my preview window has stopped working.
No matter what I do, nothing displays in there other than individual layers.

It was fine when first installed, but since today it has started to ignore rendering anything in the preview window - which is pretty annoying.
I've reinstalled the software, reinstalled it again after removing all components and preferences, and also reinstalled the latest nvidia studio drivers.
I'm running on Windows 11.

Anyone else have a fix for this or is it a bug which is being worked on? It's making the software unusable.
I've tried searching other forums and see a number of people with the same issue - but trying their workarounds does not work for me!

Just downloaded it again and the default composition loads up fine, all the sources are there, but nothing displays in the preview window unless I click a selected layer.

The preview is not previewing until you select something to preview.
