Continued playback with lost focus

Post by NIMH »

Resolume website says "Resolume is complety build to enable you to improvise your live video performance. Everthing in resolume; all video effects, transitions, scratching, etc are therefore realtime and do not interrupt the playback."

But playback stops as soon as Resolume loses focus. At least put a switch or toggle in somewhere in the prefs to set this.

I've been using Arkoas for a while and decided to try Resolume, but this focus playback thing is a killer.

Even during shows my machine does more than just video and I need to be able to change focus without stopping playback.

Not sure about NIMH,

but I use a lot of still pictures that I take of the audience during the night,
then go back to resolume, navigate via windows explorer to load
my cameras new picts, go back to res, drop the new picts
into a new deck thumbnail then show it onscreen to the audience.

at the moment, I use visuals on a second laptop
whislt loading images on the first
but it would be useful to have the option to navigate in windows
without stopping the motion in Res.

although I am sure rendering a 3D sequence in AE
will slow down Resolume's processing power
and is not recommended to use both simultaniously.

I'm using SwishMax for some messages or some text animation. There is a little trick, if u have your taskbar set to "Auto hide", go to bottom for appear, click on any place in the taskbar to unfocus resolume, and while the bar still there, pass your mouse quickly over any of the three layers (on resolume) without clicking, then the output come back to play again and u can use another progams without any interruption.
