Hi, I recently began experimenting with Resolume, have been using other software/hardware for some years. I'm having a playback problem with my clips: 320x240 plays fine, but with 640x480 it gets interesting.
I tried different versions of Resolume and got mixed results: Resolume 2.x is unable to play these clips smoothly. The playback is jittery, it seems to skip/duplicate frames every now and then. Even with just one layer with no effects. I can add two layers and some effects without it getting any slower, but not better either.
But: Resolume 1.51 plays these clips just fine. Absolutely smooth playback with single layer/no effects. However, if I add layers/fx it gets slower than 2.x.
I also noticed with some really short (5-20 frames) clips that Resolume does not play all the frames, like the last frame didn't exist at all. 2.x also seem to play the first frame twice. I don't know if this also happens with longer clips since there it wouldn't be as noticable.
My hardware: A desktop P4 3GHz, ATI 9700Pro, WinXP and a laptop PM 1.6GHz, ATI M9200, WinXP. The clips are AVIs with CinePak, MidiVid and MJPEG codecs.
The problem happens on both computers and even on a fresh stripped-down XP install I have on a separate partition. The codec doesn't seem to make any difference in this regard.
Could there be something wrong with my software configuration that causes this (like video driver settings etc)?
