Midi controller crashing Arena's Midi functionality

Post by TLA Audio »

This week an issue started happening where when i plug in my APC mini mk2, all of the midi options in Arena's preferences only show "<error>". This hasn't happened before this week, and im not sure what is happening or how to solve it. Especially since like 5% of the time the controller ends up working fine once i restart resolume a bunch of times. Im also not sure how to even diagnose or submit a crash report since resolume isnt fully crashing.

I have disconnected resolume from the wifi network, removed all midi input sources (was running an audio midi network and an IAC Bus), have tried reverting back to older known working version of resolume, and have tried on different macbooks with the same specs.

Laptop is an intel macbook pro running sonoma.

Resolume will run fine with other controllers, and will actually run just fine with some weird patching if i run a bus from the controller over a network from another laptop to resolume, and output back onto the same network to the other laptop. It seems like the issue must be with direct communication between resolume and the controller. I havent found anything similar within the forum, or on google at all - and I'm hoping its not an issue with the controller itself. But again, I'm not sure how to test further.

Can your machine power all the controllers you connect?

Have you tried a powered usb hub?
