corvid 44 12g - 12 Projector Blend

Post by scott.g »

HI Guys
I have to do a 12 Projector blend, which works out at 22000 x 1080 Pixels. Its a full circle.

I would love it if the resolume guys would give us some higher spec ideas to learn what is really possible.

However.
Does anyone know if 2 x Corvid 44 12 G cards would be capable of this many pixels.. The one thing I don't understand is whether we are bound to smpte size standards for output, or is it a matter of pixel count, and I can output the pixels how I want.
e.g if card outputs 4k, ( Lets say 4000 x 2000 for ease) does my output have to sit inside that frame size, or could I output 8000 x 1000 which is the same number of pixels..

Appreciate any clarity..

SDI only supports video frame sizes as far as I'm aware. Have you considered datapath fx4? QHD to 4 HD outputs, 3 of them on 1 GPU would give you 12 outputs and allow for genlock. https://www.datapath.co.uk/datapath-pro ... apath-fx4/

Thanks for your thoughts.
Yes, I have considered Datapath; it is an option. However, in my perfect world, I want to have one box with one piece of software. Datpath means running additional software, its another box etc.

We have all these fantastic cards available these days, and they seem to be a good fit for me, but information is scarce.

So, if anyone has any experience with the COVID 44 12G range, I would love any feedback and help. I don't want to use Decklink because the outputs are frame-locked, and I want Genlock, as can be achieved with the Corvid cards.

I prefer capacity for 8 x 4 K signals out rather than 16 x HD signals, but maybe I am too hopeful. Both options in the same system would be great. Sometimes I would send directly to projectors via Fibre or SDI cables, other times I would send my 4k's over to some Barco E2's or Aquilon R6

Yes I only have 12 projectors in this setup, but maybe I will have 16 in the future.
