Laptop doesn't output to v4, only directly to a projector??
If I have my laptop connected to my projector (S-video) which is already on, and then I start my laptop, I have no problems setting up the output. It works perfectly
BUT...
If I try and connect to a v4 or go into a splitter, I can't seem to
get the laptop to send to through the S-video out.
It's as if it can't "see" that it's attached to something???
I'm on a dell insperon 9200 laptop
with an ATI 9700 using current Omega drivers and ATI tray tools.
Why is it so flakey??
Laptop doesn't output to v4, only directly to a projector??
try this one
Connect your laptop to your projector (already on) like you do, so your laptop recognise de 2 output, then disconnect your s video and connect it to your V4 or splitter whitout puting off your loptop.
Then reconnect your projector to your new output (splitter or V4) and it will work.
:(The only thing is that you have to do this operation each time that you desconnect your instalation (i mean the cables).
The problem is that the laptop don't recognise the splitter, i have the same problem with my vga splitter, and i gess it's the same for the V4.
For me this solution works fine, maybe there is a better way but...

Yes!!! this is exactly what I've had to do to fix this problem in the past.
But I have to Re-start to even have the laptop "recognise" the projector.
It's very annoying. I don't see why I can't force my vga card to send output to the S-Video no matter what it's connected to.
There must be some software fix out there.
And what if I don't have direct access to a projector for a gig??
On one gig I was lucky there was a small portable device with S-video
input that I connected to and booted up my machine. Then I was able to plug into the splitter.
I think sometimes if an S-video cable is too long, my ATI 9700 card doesn't see the projector either!!!
My friends MAC has the exact same VGA card but he never has this problem?? WTF?
WHY DOES MY LAPTOP NEED TO "SEE" THAT IT"S CONNECTED TO SOMETHING IN THE FIRST PLACE????? I should be the one to tell it what to do, not the other way around.
Thanks for the help.
