make sure you have flash player 9 installed. flash player 8 is very buggy.

hi.

I un-installed flash player 8.0 (with add/remove)
I un-installed Flash 8.0 (with add/remove)

I then installed Adobe Flash Player 9 ActiveX. (installs into windows folder, so cant actually run the player itself))

i still can't view them in resolume. :(

Nope, and have some issues with stuttering playback on other swfs . Especially on faster machines:
in attachment a file that has this behaviour. Load it up in a single layer of resolume and as the seconds go by it starts stuttering, like with some micro-freezes.

resolume 2.4b & 2.4 on
Laptop Asus A6JC (centrinocoreduo 1,6ghz - 1GbRAM) win2003server
Laptop Boxx (P4 3,6ghz - 1Gb RAM) windowsXP32
both with 5400 rpm harddrives

Does anyone have same behaviour?
Ed&Bart, yes, I have Flashplayer9 installed

Flash Problems?

Post by SuperficiaL »

hi all,

Ive got some Flash problems to, and it might be related to the problems mentioned above...

My findings are that flash starts to stutter when the timeline is set to Flash.
It looks like the frames per second is somewhere around 10 or so.
I use a lot of audio responsive flash content and it just doesnt look good when its slower than 25 frames per second.
So one way of getting rid of that stutter issue is to dont set the timeline mode to flash to keep it realtime, but this makes Resolume kind of unstable...

Some other weird thing btw is when i switch the mode of the slider of any of the parameters (rparameter1,2,3 or 4) and left click to walk through the slider options Resolume always shuts down when switching from "BPM" to "PLAYHEAD" this happens in Flash timeline mode and in resolume timeline mode but it happens only when that swf is playing in one of the output channels (F1, F2 or F3) so it doesnt crash Resolume when the movie isnt playing.
Is this because almost all my flash content is only 1 frame and the timeline is supposed to go to frame 59 (see attached image) and there is no frame 59 in that flash movie?

One of my other findings is that swf's that have _root.createEmptyMovieClip("*",*) in them crash resolume also.
I rescripted that swf and it didnt crash anymore.

hope any of this helps in any way...

The new Resolume version still rocks btw ;) a LOT faster than 2.3 big props to you guys!
