Hello I have been vj ing for a while, but never used a midi controler, I tried to map one once and couldnt figure it out....Anyway I am thinking of buying one now and I am bit freaked out about the midi controller I buy not being "compatible" with resolume....Are all midi controllers good to use in resolume, I mean can they all be maped? And especifically has anyone used these two controllers and how do they fair with resolume:
faderfox micromodul lx2 or micromodul lv2:

Mapping out midi is pretty easy in Resolume. I had a look at these units and they look like great little devices but you'll need to buy a Midi to USB interface to connect them to your laptop as they all have Midi out only.
Personally I would go for something that has a USB connection built in. I use a 'Midiman Oxygen 8' Controller now called 'A-Audio Oxygen 8' to trigger my clips, scratch, control layer speed, opacity, effect parameters etc and use the computers keyboard for triggering effects and switching between decks/layers.

I've been looking into getting a 2nd controller now too. I'm quite keen on the
behringer controllers.This one in particular.

Think it would be great for resolume as I use the playhead quite a bit and only really use 2 layers. It pretty much has all the elemnts mapped out to how I use them for each layer. Have a look at these as well.

It really depends on what way you work but I'd say these are a good choice.

I'm really keen on the faderfox, they are just so hard to get in Australia. There is a stock shortage atm I believe.
I have a BCF2000, it's good but big. It's a bit of a pain lugging it around to every gig, for most gigs I could get away with half the functionality.
When I first started VJing I over compensated hardware wise because I wasn't sure what I might need in the future, now I'm pretty keen on downsizing my rig, the faderfox looks excellent.
I played a gig recently and I had more gear than the drummer!
