Apple M4 announcement

Post by dsquareddan »

The new M4 Pro and Max MacBook Pros look pretty compelling. Yes, priced in Apple $$$$, but the GPU cores seem extensive in this model.

I’m wondering if Resolume would even benefit from this tho over any of the previous generation M series chips. As far as I’m aware, Resolume is still not supported natively on Apple Silicon but uses Rosetta. Is this still in the near future coming?

I wonder what other benefits these new chips could give to future versions of Resolume.

Also, the new Mac Mini looks like a crazy deal for a portable little machine.

I know the VJ community seems to have their gripes with Apple products, and rightfully so. But maybe, just maybe things are becoming competitive in the market there again?

Resolume has native support for Apple Silicon since 7.11, no Rosetta needed:
