Was wondering if anyone could help out with a query.
I went to a live event for new years and as a practicing VJ myself i went there and spent most of my time concetrating on the quality of the visuals. But one thing that still has me pussed as i want to do this myself is how they got there DV camera to be wirless...
Walking around the crowd filming them and having it live on screen.
I have a sony DCR-HC18E handy cam that i use for live shots on my sets normaly but im restriced to the lenth of my firewire cable!
Does anyone know of the hardware required to use it wirelessly and what it would cost?
Ive had many clients ask if i could film perfomers infront and have them live on screen at same time so it could be a viable investment.
Any help would be much apreceated!

Check ebay for wireless spycams. They are really cheap and might come in handy for many occasions. Be sure to buy the 2.4 Ghz version to keep up friends with your sound engineers (1.2 Ghz might destort wireless microphones etc).
They do need a rather light area to perform in full colour, keep that in mind before you buy. Or do as I do, ask your light engineer to use mainly blue lights when you use them, that helps a lot.
The receiver has composit out, so you can plug it in your V4 without a problem.

But all of these cheap Solutions are not stable when moving around, or somethings moving in the line. I tried several solutions. The only "payable" System i found is this

According to this brief snippet in the New York Times -- http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/22/techn ... ector.html -- the next-generation product (WMS-200) from NewSoft will transmit video using WiFi (802.11a, b or g).
The current version (WMS-100) apparently uses sends VGA screen shots (at 15 fps) via wireless to the WMS, which is connected to a VGA-capable projector. Now, I have no idea what "NewSoft will soon offer the WMS200, delivering video as well as still images" means: Does that mean it will send 30 fps video from a PC to the receiver? Will it be a transmitter/receiver package? And there's no info on how much it will cost. (The WMS-100 is US $280.)
Keep your eye on WiFi announcements, though. The last time I sat down for a serious Googling on this subject (yes, those 2.4 Ghz security cams are pretty much crap, so I want something better), I found several references to a major WiFi vendor (LinkSys, perhaps) having recently licensed a video-over-WiFi chipset. I also found a few announcements of similar products, but nothing seems to have made it out the door, yet. If there is a workable chipset that can handle video-to-WiFi, I can't imagine it will be long before we see video-only relays out there.
