[fixed] Problem with some MJPEG clips

Post by gpvillamil »

I have some clips, encoded with PicVideo MJPEG at 640x480, that are giving me problems in Resolume 2.4 and 2.41.

I did not have problems in 2.3

What happens is this: when I load a deck containing one of these clips, or one I drop the clip directly on the grid, Resolume freezes for 30 seconds to a minute. Eventually it comes back, but the clip does not play, even though the thumbnail appears in the grid.

I have put the clip online here: http://www.villamil.org/vj/water-07.avi

Other clips from the same batch also cause similar problems, but that one is very consistent.

I have used the same encoding parameters with other material, with zero problems. Also, I can play that clip with other media players, VJ software and Max/MSP, with no problems.

Hi gpvillamil ,
I downloaded your file and it seems to be corrupt in some way.
Resolume does play it but after a long delay.
Normally if you right click an .avi file in windows explorer you can see it's summary. It shows info on size, length etcetera.
When i rightclick your file it does not give me any information. So it seems that something went wrong when rendering, coverting...
So i don't think this is a resolume problem.

Yep, that seems to be the problem. I checked all the files from that batch, and found a glitch in both of them about 7 seconds from the end.

Working now, thanks!
