Hi there,
I have a question:
I have a clip set to end at a certain endpoint.
Using autopilot, I instruct the layer to move onto the next clip after 1 loop.
However, I have a transition time of 1 sec set on the layer.
Instead of blending the end of clip 1 and the beginning of clip 2, it blends from the beginning of clip 1.
This makes for an undesired cut, showing the beginning of clip 1 again for a brief period.
Is this normal behaviour? Is there any way around this?
Thanks so much!

Re: Autopilot + transition time
Well, it is the way that arena always worked. It would only start with the transition at the end of the first clip so that means the transition uses the first few seconds of that first clip again but with the new autopilot there is a way around it..
For this example, let's say your clip is five seconds and you want a two seconds fade at the end (not the beginning
)
- What you can do is set your clip to play once and clear so it will be cleared in the end and you won't see any extra Last or first frames.
- Now set your auto pilot instead of it playing one loop to seconds
- you want to have the transition start two seconds from the end. So that = movie length (5sec) - 2sec = 3sec
(btw a extra tip you can double click the clip duration and copy that number (if it's not a nice round number) and copy it in the auto pilot and just type -2 behind it, then Resolume will do the math for you)
- now if you play your 5 second clip, it should start with the transition at 3 seconds and be completely done at 5 seconds.
This way you should get the fluid transition that you're after. Hope this helps you out if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Re: Autopilot + transition time
Thank you.
I'm running 7.4.1 so don't seem to have that function but it's good to know that it's there now!

Oh yes, that's only been there since 7.22.
