what's your MIDI mapping (oxygen8)

I just got my spanking new Oxygen8 MIDI controller but as a MIDI newbe the mappings kinda confuse me...

can I have 1 key for every clip I have on every layer or?

what did you map under the knobs?

hi morninglight,
I don't have the oxigen, I have the edirol pcr30 (more slide controls

).
I don't use the keys to trigger clips. I use them for things like:
-erase layers,
-activate layers
-applying (global) effects
-pause, forward, backward, random playhead

(actually the PCR30 has 9 assignable pushbuttons, I have hardly any "piano keys" mapped...)

For controllers (I have 8 rotary and 8 sliders)
-3 rotary knobs to controll each layer's speed
-3 sliders to control each layer's blend level
-3 sliders to control each layer's playhead position (scratch)
-1 rotary knob to adjust global effect
-1 rotary knob to adjust active layer effect

The oxigen only has 8 rotaries, I'd bring it back and buy the edirol, you won't regret it! If you're not intending to do that, I think you can come far with just the keys and the knobs. Just experiment what works best for you!

I'm kind on a low budget and the Oxygen8 costed me half a day teaching resolume to someone and giving him some mixcontent...

I already had the blend layers on the knobs so I'm, working in the right direction

Im using the miditech midicontrol.. its a nice lightweight mid-sized keyboard with 12 rotary knobs.. currently i use all my sharps for effects and the white note keys for default play control..

for some reason it wont let me map the white keys past whatever the end of the last selection (i know that sounds confusing but i dont know how to word it).. heh.. and also for some reason the beta resolume is not saving any of my effect midi maps - but it DOES save the preference midi maps..

Yep,
My config with the oxygen8 :
all the keys are assigned to the videos on the desk execept the last 4 keys :
1 to activate layer 1
2 to activate layer 2
3 to activate layer 3
4 to remove the content on the active layer

3 rotary knobs for the level of the 3 layers
4 rotary knobs fot the effect of the 3 layers + global efect
1 layer to control the playhead of the active layer

The slider is dedicated to the global speed

this was before v1.5 of resolume, it need you build your desks in consequence

ok may sound like a fool i want to get into vjing and have everything as in a wicked laptop. ok all the gigs at our club or most are just djs so there is no midi signal how can i create one from the audio signal, hardware, software or another pc. if hardware what do you recomend? same for software, downloaded resolume trial liked it but need to audio trigger if i am to buy and use in my proformance.
