(m)asking a question

Post by flow »

I am having troubles with masks.
dragging a picture file into the composition mask field doesn't create a mask. nothing happens.
dragging a picture into the clip mask field removes the former clip and sets the mask as a clip instead.
dragging the mask into a layer will make it usuable a like any other clip, and I can use it to mask if I use an extra layer.
so, no composition mask possible?

for me, they all work perfectly - clip, layer and composition masks. i wasnt able to replicate any of the probs you describe. i have been using them since the 1st beta and havbnt had any probs like that in any versions.

i am on pc though and not mac, so i dont know if its a mac specific bug.

I'm having the same issue. Res Ave 3.0.1 on a Macbook Pro

On the clip properties it does replace the clip with the png file.
But I can't get a layer or composition property to take the png mask when I drop it.

I've never made masks before. Using photoshop. So I'm not sure if it's just not a problem with the mask file.

Is there a tutorial on making the perfect mask?

Is there a depository for ResAv suitable masks?

Thanks for a great product! Overall my world got a lot better when Resolume Ave came out.

dont know if its the same on the mac as pc, but on the pc you just make a jpeg and use that, doesnt need to be the same size as the composition or clip it automaticly adjusts.
