I see this quote "refined video scratching" in the emails I get about 3.0 from Resolume.
I am a fairly happy registered 3.0 user but I don't see anything in the program that has led me to believe it truly supports video scratching. Video scratching by way of mapping midi controllers to transport controls is not "refined video scratching." Resolume needs to translate timecode directly in the software like PCDJ VJ does. Timecode control is an essential part of the future of the VJ industry and until Resolume supports it, Resolume is not a complete VJ product... so advertising 3.0 has "refined video scratching" is misleading IMHO.
refined video scratching???
Re: refined video scratching???
The quote you are referring to was from the Jury of the Projection Product Of The Year award by Live Design Magazine. See below, i agree with you that scratching video sepacially together with audio can be much improved. Timecode is something we ar investigating as many customers seem to be interested in this.
* Projection Product Of The Year 2009 in Live Design Magazine
Resolume 3 was chosen Projection Product Of The Year in Live Design
Magazine. Here is why:
"This new version of the super-popular VJ media server has 80% of the
functionality of higher-end servers, plus candy they wish they had, like
beat detection, refined video scratching, auto clip-looping to audio
length, and an unbelievably beautiful and efficient new QuickTime codec
that allows it to mix dozens of HD layers."
