Kill Effects

Post by zeropoint »

It looks like the bypass switches are not midi mappable (??)......I tried mapping a dash board link to opacity and you can get it to work "piano" style - i.e hold the button for opacity up/fx on and let it go to return to zero. But I can't get it to work like a switch - the dasboard knob responds but the slider it is linked to only goes up and not back down. Is there any way round this?

Thanks

The Bypass buttons can 'only' be mapped in composition mode.
Hmm and yes you can't do a toggle with a Midi note, you can however do this with a keyboard shortcut.
We'll have a look why we did it like this.

Am I right in thinking there's no way to kill all FX on all layers but leave the clips playing dry?

Ok now......figured out a neat way by using the "press to zero" function of my faderfoxes encoders. I map all the opacities to that encoder via the dashboard, then when I press it all of the opacities get zeroed. Then choose which effects are active at layer and composition level with individually mapped bypass keys.

Can you remember why midi notes can not toggle a button? - I've tried to map clip's RGBA switches to midi as well as to keyboard, but the mappings work only to switch RGBA on, it's not possible to switch them off - not even with a keyboard mapping. :?: - Can somebody confirm this? Do I miss something?

Well strangely my midi notes are now toggling the bypass switches in Composition mode.....

And I cannot get the RGB switches to map at all, in any mode, Key or Midi.
