how to connect live audio?

how to connect d live sound/audio to resolume.coz while band are playing d music,i need d visual sync with d beat...

The only way to have video synced to the beat is with a midi clock. So if the music is coming from a computer, synthesizer or any other instrument that outputs midi, its no problem. Just connect the midi signal to your computer and set resolume to accept an external midi clock signal.

If the music is live, then you need to tap in the tempo of the beat using resolume internal midi clock to sync to the beat. it won't be perfect, but no live band is either. :-) I like to map some keyboard keys to the tap button in resolume to have a more tactile feel to tapping the tempo.

You can also use the line-in on your computer to feel the live music into resolume. then you can use the have the audio waveform change your effects or parameters. for example have a video clip change opacity with incoming bass notes use the FFT effect.

You should also consider checking out a package called MAX/MSP. Many people who do multimedia performances use it for generating midi signals from audio...
