Is it possible to offset the start point of a loop/clip?
ie have a looped clip which starts playing from a pre defined point whenever triggered?
Thanks
Offset start point?
Re: Offset start point?
You can edit the "in" and "out" point of every clip in the "clip properties"
Set the "in" point to the point you like and the clip will start from that "in" point, and will loop from "out" to "in" etc.. etc..
If you would like to start only once from a given "in" point and then go back to the original start point of the loop.. I'm not sure....

Re: Offset start point?
Sounds to me like something I've requested (in a clumsy way
) almost a year ago...

Re: Offset start point?
Yeah I know about in/out points.
Looking for a separate start point:
i--------x-------o
Start at x. loop from i to o.
Rene I found your post and seconded the feature request.
For clips where the beatsnap is set to none, a workaround would perhaps be to set up a cue point at the required position and midi/keyboard map it and the clip launch to the same control.
So pressing that control launches the clip and the cue point.
That wont work for beat snapped clips though.

Re: Offset start point?
I'd love to see this feature implemented too. However, I would like to see it implemented slightly differently. Given gavspav's example:
i--------x-------o
I'd like to start at "i" and then loop from "x" to "o." Basically a preroll at the beginning of a clip (similar to how some DVD menus loop).

Re: Offset start point?
I was thinking about this a bit more lately....
Maybe it's possible for the developers to add one (or more) extra "loop points" to the usual "in" and "out" point? (like the BeatLoopr)
like one or more (user defined) "loop/cue" points (between the in and outpoint) - with the option of making them a "cue" / "in" / "out" or "loop" point... (Like a random funtion with pre defined points on the timeline....)
Don't know if this is possible to implement, but i guess something is already in there with the BeatLoopr/cuepoints on BPM synced clips...

Re: Offset start point?
Is it possible now? I don't find it in the manual.
I think offsetting the start point would be sometimes very helpful. Very good idea 11 years ago...

Re: Offset start point?
It is possible with the small workaround:
Use 2 times the same clip
the first have the dedicated inpoint and the autopilot ist set to go to the 2nd clip (and this one just loop normal from start to finish)
Or with one clip you need to have the loop two times, then you can set the in/out to be a loop as well and you dont need to have 2 clips
The setting of the 2nd option can be quite a challange
