Just let it all out, buddy. You're among friends here.

am i the only resolume user who is having this problem: when i play flash files in a browser or with the standalone player, the lines are perfectly smooth, but when i play them in resolume (output 512x384 scaled to 1024x768) those same lines are very jagged and rough.

i realize that flash files will never look as smooth as the originals when output to video, but this roughness looks too extreme to my eye.

i've tried all sorts of output settings and it's always the same (VGA output, S-video output, different scaling and size).

if anyone has a solution or is having the same problem, i would appreciate hearing about it.

I have pretty good (to my eye) output from flash. I do 640x480 32bit to the S-Video (800x600 GeFOrce 5200).

last night at my gig, i paid closer attention to some of the flash loops, and i noticed what the real problem is:

when the graphics contain lines that are at roughly a 45 degree angle, the "jaggies" get really bad. since i'm using 1024x768 resolution i would expect resolume to produce smoother lines.

i know it's not the scan conversion in the laptop, because i see the same effect when i output through DVI to another monitor.

so bottom line, (message to resolume programmers) - the algorithm that converts flash to video could be improved (better scaling at higher resolutions like 1028x768 for example). i'll try to post a video still showing this issue later tonight.

i think the way your outputing the flash file from resolume is you problem. i just did a test: running the video at 800 x 600 scaled to 1024 x 768 at fullscreen, everything looks perfect. I did notice the jaggys when running more than one channel though in any of the blend modes. is that what you speak of?
