basic deck layout for crossfading videos

Post by fongaboo »

Just starting to try to make sense of Resolume Avenue...

First thing I am trying to conceive is a generalized layout for a simple set of music videos in sequential order and crossfade between...

How do you all lay your clips out (assuming each clip is one song/music video)?

Put your clips alternately on 2 layers - ie. on layer 1 put clips 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. on layer 2 put clips 2, 4, 6, 8 etc.

Assign layer 1 to crossfader bus A. Assign layer 2 crossfader bus B.

Start layer 1. Crossfade to bus A (makes clip visible). When you want, start playback on layer 2, and crossfade to bus B. etc.

Much like DJ mixing.
