a dj i have worked with for a long time has relocated to a different state. he is still playing out and needs visuals. we were wondering if it is possible to remotely vj by streaming real time over the internet. i noticed that the network streaming section is missing from the avenue manual. what would it take to stream video directly out of resolume? are latency issues too great for this to be practical? has streaming functionality changed with the avenue release?
all advice is appreciated.

if remotly vj meens to vj to music in a club far away, then yes there will be huge latency pbm's (more or less 4 seconds depending on bandwith). Also quality issue to, thru systems such as ustreem you will get a 320*240 highly compressed video. if you what to try it out Vidblaster and ustreem.com is a good start. I've been playing around this idea (gettin too old to travel) but so far no way to really sync up to a club

That is a good idea using a web to be a part in the club using live streaming. Anyway, the first issue is that the bandwidth might be limited to make the quality of the video. You should have a fast web connection for that.
