Hi! I'm new to vjing..I would like to start making my projects but after downloading Resolume 3 it's says I can't run it. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ240E with windows 7. My graphics card is Intel GMA X3100. Is there any possibility to run any Resolume version with it? I'm just starting and I can't buy another laptop by now, any suggestions?
thanks a lot!!!

Re: Sony Vaio Graphic Card not enough?
You should be able to run Resolume 1 and 2 but you will NOT be able to run Resolume 3 (Avenue).
quick search of your laptop showed the following specs:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834117574
Core 2 Duo T7250(2.00GHz)
2GB Memory DDR2 667
250GB HDD 4200rpm
Intel GMA X3100
if these specs are the same as your laptop, you may have to play your media off of an external hardrive.
you may also want to look at tossing winxp on it and upgrading the ram. (there are many things you can do to tweak winxp down to take fewer resources)
video codec is the KEY... encode your videos to indeo or PICvideo
and no bigger than 640x480. maybe even 320x240 (those were the days....)
RTFM for full help on encoding your videos to that "sweet spot"
the best way to really know will be to download a demo of version 1 or 2 and try it out:

Re: Sony Vaio Graphic Card not enough?
for the past couple years... the best bang-for-the-buck gaming laptops have been from Asus. they tend to be a bit on the over-the-top on the design side. But for the money, they really seem to out-pace the competition on specs and quality.
Personally, I am keeping my eye on the the new Asus G73JH.

seems like a dream Res Ave laptop. (and less ugly than their past gaming machines) Maybe the 2nd generation just to be safe.
