i use dv in smtimes and the quality is fine , it can get a bit jerky when havin 2 full avis running and receiving dv in , important is to set the cam so it doesn't go to sleep mode that can crash the app.
what sort of lines?
to be hones t last time i used it is a bit ago and i didn't move the cam a lot, output screen is set on 320/240 ....are the lines like interlacing lines?will check l8er ,
the lines that u refer to sound like the result of interlacing in your camera... there is not a whole lot that you can do about it. Maybe if you used a smaller resolution scaled up, the lines would become less obvious.
yep the lines are the result of interlacing....tuff tried the deinterlace plug in pete wardens effects but to no asvail....gotta keep the camera still and the crowd as well....or live with the lines.
Still cam on gigs and a slow shutter speed below 50 corrects the lines a bit due to motion blur...
I would love to have a proper DV-IN, with the possibility to have native resolutions, 720x576 in PAL. In this way the DV-IN would have a little bit of delay, but no quality degradation...
I thought I already paid for this features in the 1.50 when I bought it. I hope I don't have go to 2.0 just for this...
Have a look into USB webcams or even plugging a digital camera into USB. These are both cheaper and more compact solutions than DV cam. Of course webcam won't zoom but a digital still camera will, you can't do as much as you can with a DV camera but there definitely won't be interlacing.
