feature suggestion: select new clip for channel only per drag&drop

problem: left-clicking on a clip in the clip section of the screen will automatically activate that clip for the currently selected channel.
often accidently, especially after having readjusted a channel's opacity settings, you dont realize you have the wrong channel selected before clicking on a new clip. then when you do, it unexpectedly replaces a clip in the wrong channel with the new clip.

during a live performance this can be very annoying.

proposal: similar to how you select a generator for your clip, a clip should only be activated for one of the channels after dragging and dropping it into the desired channel's window in the top of the screen. this would be much more intuitive and safer to handle and prevent accidents.

I have found that no matter how hard you concentrate, it will happen at least 2 or 3 times during an evening's performance that you will replace the wrong clips.

a single left-button mouse click should not activate a clip right away, thats way too risky.

maybe you could add an option that lets you disable that, and only activate after you have dragged it specifically into a channel's window.

Just get used to be carefull what you click...
One reason not to implement:
It's a dream to trigger a clip that contains a very short animation (ie explosion or just something that flashes) in "play once" mode with just a click of the mouse. To the beat that is, or something else. It would be a hell to drag it...

i agree with martijn. the single left click to load a clip in the channel is insispensable, very important, fondamental for the live. much more than the "risk" to clik accidentally once or two a night another clip into the channel. drag n drop would kill live.
if u want u can have it as option.

I also really like the tab function on the 'play once' mode for a clip, makes right on sync.

Maybe it's a possibility to choose that function or not,
then everybody is satisfied : )
