DXV on explorer

Post by werlin »

hi

is there some way of having dxv-mov files showing thumbnails in windows 7 (x86)?

also is there a reason why dxv does not appear as a quicktime codec option in avs video converter\tools?

thanks

Hmmm. Those two could well be related. Could you try doing a separate install of the DXV codec?

if you mean in a different system... well... in my x64 its the same... nothing
if you mean instaling the codec only after resolume... same thing... nothing appears aswell
if you mean some other thing like installing it in a diferent directory, then, where?

I meant the second one, but thanks for trying all of them!

Are you using Quicktime or QT Alternative?

Is the DXV codec installed in the correct directory? It should be in C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\DXVWindows.qtx

meh. codec correctly installed and it doesn't show up. that's windows for ya, i guess ;-)

we've had some other issues with win7 and dxv. i'll add this to the list. does it show up in other apps?

it does at least in both c4d and after effects... and the thumbnails appear fine on both resolume and AE

but it shows up on the mac version of avs video tools? that's strange...
hope that you can fix this though, because im looking at a lot of content in mkv that i would hate to recode through avi, just to later recode them from source... :|
