Hi Guys,
I'm pretty sure this problem is due to Ableton, but I figured surely some of you have come across it.
I'm having a problem routing MIDI signals through Ableton.
What I want to do is to have a knob on my MPK49 control the dry/wet of an effect.
In turn, I want Ableton to send that corresponding signal to MIDI Yoke, so that I can control both Ableton, and a Resolume effect with the 1 knob.
This works in theory:
You map the knob to the Wet/Dry of the effect module in Ableton.
You create a MIDI channel strip.
You set MIDI TO: Out To MIDIYoke
You set the channel to Record Enable.
And it SHOULD work... right?
Wrong - When I map the knob to the Wet/Dry of the effect module, it seems Ableton no longer recognizes MIDI from that particular knob - When i turn it, I can't see any of the yellow lights flash on the MIDI channel strip - not even in the MIDI From Section??
When I delete all the mappings, I can see the yellow MIDI lights flash again, and the signals are sent through Ableton again. It's as though once MIDI mapped, Ableton ignores that particular knob?
Why would Ableton stop recognizing MIDI from a mapped knob (even though the mapping still works), and stop sending MIDI Out (for a single knob) to MIDIYoke when an Ableton Parameter is mapped to said knob?
Thanks All,
Hugh

Re: Ableton Midi Problems
Weird! I don't think I'm 100% grasping the problem... but why don't you try routing your MPK to a MidiYoke channel in MidiOX (I'll use Midi Yoke 1 as an example), then having Ableton and Resolume both recognize that channel? Or you could just have Ableton and Resolume directly recognize the MPK, right?
