set the same midi controlers of one parameter.

Post by joffo »

Hi.
it would be usefull to control the same parameter whith the same midi controler on each clip.
To do that the controler would be operational only on the clip selected. In this way, it would be necessary to set the midi control only one time by parameter and we could control a lot of parameters with few controlers !
It's he way which work the mackie control.

Hey Joffo

I may be misunderstanding what you mean, but if you use the application midi map mode, it actually works like that already!

what i'd like is one controler (for example CC 23 ch 1) for all the "bottom left y" of a keystone crop.
when i set the "bottom left y" with my controler on one clip. it move but not the others. if i want to move the "bottom left y" of another clip, i had to select it. In this case, i can move it without changing the setting of the first (even it has the same controller affected).

Ok i understood it work. But it's impossible to set parameters on any effects Fframes) So i thought to control there with the dashboard but only 6 parameters isn't enough. Could we esperate 8 at least ?

I hadn't realized you meant this to apply on effects. That would be very hard to implement, since we cannot assume every clip always has the same effects applied.

I think the most efficient way to do this, would be to apply the effects on the layer level, and then map each layer effect to your midi controller.

this solution is impossible for because i need differents settings for each clips.
What do you think about whatever effect the controller 1 for the first parameter of any effect the controller 2 for the second ...

Well.... This would also be problematic, since we cannot be sure that the first parameter on an effect would be a slider. It could also be a text input or a button for example. In R3.3.0 we added a feature that allows you to map the *opacity* of the first three effects on the composition level. But not the actual effect parameters.

I understand what you're after, and also see how it could be useful. If you want I can put in a feature request, but it will be very unlikely to become an actual feature, since it's technically very difficult to implement.
