keystone plugin - a couple of thoughts

Post by VJair »

when you use the keystone plugin, it only lets you compress the video shape, not stretch it - stretching would be handy in some situations.

also, when used on a layer - it ignores the layer size and works according to the video size, so if you have the keystone plugin on the layer and have 2 different size vids on that layer - the resulting keystoning changes size according to which vid is selected. this makes it fiddly if i wanted to keystone everything on a layer.

thanks.

We received some requests for negative values on the x and y axis of the Keystone plugs before. I never quite understood the point of that, but would this be something similar to what you're asking?

Yes, this is, unfortunately, a direct result of how the layer and clip translations are rendered in the pipeline (namely simultaneously). This will certainly be addressed in the next version. For now I'll make a feature request to render the keystoning plugs at composition size as opposed to source content size.

Okay, then I'll add this feature as a request as well.

BTW, does this also occur when you set the layer size to be fixed at 640x480 (or whatever your composition size is)?

im running in 1024 x 768 as its a nice handy resolution for the projector. im also splitting this off to a rgb converter to send to the other satelite screens in the venue but that can be whatever res. its more the main projector i want to keep happy

So when you set the layers to be fixed at 1024x768, does they keystone also misbehave?
