I am playing 6 layers of video at 1024 x 768, and it seems my graphic card can handle this beautifully: its running at around 70 Fps. The problem is when I try to record my sets, even with a second display output disabled, it falls to 17 Fps, and the output stutters quite a bit. Any solutions? I'd like to record my work...
specs:
Intel quad core i7 at 160 Ghz
8 Gb ram
Nvidia Geforce GT 460M

Thanks for pointing me to that thread. The Fraps option looks really interesting! I will try it out and report back my findings.
