Tear on Slide

Post by megawattmedia »

Hi i had a recent corperate gig where I had to pixel map to a low res LED screen, I was output to a resolution of 80x24 pix so created a compostion to that size, I was outputing very basic stuff basically scrolling messages, that i input to from a dynamic swf (2500px w 80px h), i then applied the slide effect to give a ticker tape style output i noticed that there was a slight tear to the output,
i was running this on the latest 15" i7 macbook pro so can't be the computer, any ideas ???? or perhaps better ways to output a scrolling ticket tape display?

Hey Megawattmedia

This is the result of what's known as screen tearing, the nitty gritty of which you can read here. Not all machines suffer from it, but when they do, it's especially noticeable on high contrast moving footage, such as your Flash based text scroller. We are working on a fix for this.

I hope that clears things up a bit.
